The Business and Communications Strategist will act as an innovative partner, leader and strategist, driving growth and value in all aspects of our business through root cause analysis, data analytics, and communication and change management methodologies.  This position is responsible for leading and consulting on transformational and strategic business initiatives that will help accelerate the achievement of results.  Informed by data, this role will formulate and develop actionable recommendations that are aligned with the BU’s goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct research of external organizations to develop a deep understanding of trend in staffing, talent, the market, and our competitors.  Utilize this information to develop strategies and talking points for our front-line teams to discuss with customers to resolve complex business problems. 
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings. Capture and synthesize information into actionable insights and recommendations. 
  • Optimize the Customer and Talent Journey through leading and designing strategies around engagement (i.e. increasing revenue, time-to-fill, redeployment and unemployment rates, recruiting avenues, along with decreasing turnover.), talent/recruiting planning, pipeline management and development, and account/service delivery excellence 
  • Support leaders to develop strategic plans around talent for our customers, using internal and external data analytics. 
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, technologies and develop robust training and support programs for our sales and account management teams. 
  • Draw on diverse perspectives to solve problems and drive effective solutions. 
  • Design and assist in the facilitation of workshops with diverse stakeholders, from client teams to community partners, to collaboratively explore domains and challenges, synthesize data, generate concepts, and present work. 
  • Develop and design communication programs, initiatives and campaigns that align with Kelly P&I’s strategy and priorities. 
  • Recommend, develop, implement and maintain communication programs and standards in alignment with Kelly Corporate Communication Policies  
  • Make recommendations to various levels of leadership surrounding improving strategies and practices. 
  • Monitor the adoption of improvements made by evaluating performance metrics, surveys and financial results/measures. 
  • Promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing strong communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building techniques. 
  • Engage leadership and stakeholders to obtain support and buy in for initiatives. 
  • Be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, often with competing/conflicting objectives, to ensure cohesive and reachable measures of success. 
  • Ability to independently and manage multiple initiatives and priorities. 
  • Assists with business case development for proposed initiatives that they are assigned to ensure adequate assessment of opportunities, risks and return on investment. 
  • Utilize critical problem-solving skills to define and execute solutions to business problems. 
  • Identifies, analyzes, and understands target audiences and their specific communication and strategy design needs – and develops effective messages for those audiences. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • ​7 + years of experience in designing business strategies and complex communication plans in complex, ever changing business environments 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, ability to juggle multiple projects, work efficiently and meet deadlines.   
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record collaborating on projects in a team environment. 
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand, compelling messages. 
  • Experience using market and talent research sites (Emsi, Indeed, Talent Neuron, etc.) a plus 
  • Technical expertise and proficiency in use of office and process improvement related tools, such as MS Excel, Word, Visio, Canva or other similar required.  Working knowledge of Power BI a plus.
