Strategic Sales Manager, Kelly Government
This individual will secure new business for Kelly Government within the Federal Government Contracting market. Expand and enhance Kelly’s business relationships with prospective customers to contribute to enhanced sales growth, profitability, customer satisfaction and market share. Responsible for researching assigned markets and proactively identifying and securing opportunities within Kelly Government’s target specialties.
Strategy: Identify the growth and profitability objectives, targeted service/business line mix, service capability, competitive opportunity and ideal customer portfolio utilizing individual sales plans and targets.
Discovery: Develop and qualify leads from exiting accounts or new prospects and document in Salesforce.com. Utilize resources such as program managers, cross selling initiatives/teams, marketing campaigns, referrals, RFI/RFPs, cold calls, and expansion opportunities to generate leads. Partner with other subject matter experts as needed to assist in the needs analysis, due diligence and capability overview when appropriate leads are qualified to move forward in the process.
Advocacy: Consult with SME’s and other members of the sales team to develop the solution, pricing strategy and value proposition once an opportunity is identified. This may include coordinating requests for proposals/presentations with the RFP team, pricing mangers/finance managers, Contracts Administration/Law, and Implementation.
Closing: Partner with the customer and internal stakeholders to ensure all needs are being met. This may include negotiating contract terms, non-standard requirements, and service offerings.
Responsible for developing consultative sales skills; learning about Kelly’s cost models and pricing; staying current with all aspects of the staffing and government contracting industry and competitive data; learning and keeping others informed of market information; building relationships across the sales team and within other organizations within Kelly.
- Government contracting industry knowledge;
- Experience in selling to high level contacts at large accounts;
- Demonstrated ability to present in front of perceptive audiences including C-level customers;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships;
- Understanding of the consultative sales process;
- Ability to problem solve and offer solutions in a timely fashion that meets prospective customer needs and are financial beneficial for Kelly;
- High level of financial acumen
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field
- 5-7 years B2B (Business to Business) high level sales experience required.
