As Director of Onboarding, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our onboarding function across multiple regions and business lines. In this highly visible leadership role, you will drive a best-in-class onboarding experience that supports business outcomes, enhances talent retention, and builds a scalable foundation for long-term growth. You will oversee a team of people managers and specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, compliance, efficiency, and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to the Onboarding team, including multiple managers and their teams across geographic regions.
- Develop and execute a scalable onboarding strategy that balances compliance, operational efficiency (e.g., speed to hire), and an exceptional new hire experience.
- Monitor team capacity, business demand, and organizational priorities to proactively allocate resources and support workforce planning.
- Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual onboarding requirements; serve as subject matter expert and final escalation point.
- Design and implement departmental goals, KPIs, and service-level standards; analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement and accountability.
- Build and strengthen cross-functional partnerships with Recruiting, HR, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Business Operations to ensure seamless onboarding delivery.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance onboarding capability and automation.
- Champion a culture of coaching, collaboration, and continuous development; support leadership growth of people managers within the team.
- Lead organizational change initiatives related to onboarding and hiring process transformation; ensure adoption and alignment across impacted teams.
- Represent the onboarding function in enterprise-wide strategic planning and business reviews.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experiences:
- 5+ years of experience in staffing or recruiting
- Proven success leading onboarding operations in a large, complex, or multinational organization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies aligned to business goals and translate them into scalable, measurable outcomes.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and consultative skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decisions and process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
