Our Vice President, Strategic Engagement Group is a senior executive responsible for driving the strategic expansion of Kelly's most valuable client portfolios. This leader owns the growth agenda deepening Kelly's footprint within existing accounts by scaling across geographies and broadening the range of workforce solutions delivered. Serving as the executive champion for a portfolio of strategic clients, this role combines the commercial instincts of a seasoned sales leader with the consultative expertise of a solutions architect.

 

Leading a team of Account Managers and Segment Leaders, the VP of Strategic Engagement builds trusted, executive-level client relationships, architects compelling workforce solutions, and orchestrates the cross-functional resources needed to bring them to life. This role is central to Kelly's One Kelly strategy ensuring clients experience the full breadth of Kelly's capabilities in an integrated, high-value partnership.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Client Growth & Portfolio Expansion

  • Own and execute the growth strategy for a portfolio of strategic accounts identifying expansion opportunities by geography, solution line, and service category
  • Lead the full growth cycle with existing clients: opportunity identification, solution design, proposal development, commercial negotiation, and close
  • Develop and present compelling workforce solution narratives that translate client business challenges into Kelly-delivered outcomes
  • Partner with the Kelly Growth Office to align portfolio expansion plans with enterprise-wide growth priorities and the One Kelly vision
  • Analyze portfolio financials to identify growth gaps and profitability levers, translating data into client-facing business cases and executive narratives

 

Executive Client Relationships & Retention

  • Build, deepen, and sustain trusted C-suite and executive relationships across the client portfolio, securing long-term retention and account confidence
  • Serve as the senior executive point of contact and escalation for all strategic client matters, ensuring swift resolution and sustained relationship health
  • Lead renewal strategy development and value expansion narratives that position Kelly as an indispensable strategic partner
  • Establish and oversee governance frameworks for each account including executive business reviews, success metrics, and continuous improvement rhythms
  • Champion client satisfaction by proactively anticipating evolving workforce needs and positioning Kelly solutions ahead of the curve

 

Solutions Architecture & Thought Leadership

  • Lead the effort to analyze client workforce requirements and reshape offerings into integrated, multi-solution designs spanning staffing, RPO, MSP, direct sourcing, and adjacent services ensuring the right combination of capabilities is brought to bear for each client
  • Evaluate and recommend the right combination of Kelly services, technology platforms, and delivery models to address client needs and drive measurable business value
  • Stay current on macro and microeconomic trends, workforce market intelligence, competitive landscape, and legislative developments to provide clients with proactive, strategic counsel
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and internal advocate for workforce innovation, bringing best practices and market insight to bear on account strategy

 

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Account Managers and Segment Leaders, driving accountability to growth targets and client satisfaction outcomes
  • Establish clear performance goals aligned to portfolio strategy, providing consistent feedback and development support to maximize individual and team performance
  • Build a culture of client focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement creating an environment where team members are empowered to grow and deliver exceptional results
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to develop succession plans and invest in the talent pipeline within the account management function
  • Mentor emerging leaders, building capability and bench strength across the portfolio organization

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Excellence

  • Partner with all Kelly delivery leaders, shared services teams, and operational partners to resolve escalations, drive innovation, and ensure seamless delivery across all accounts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with recruiting, onboarding, technology, finance, and HR to align delivery capabilities with client commitments
  • Champion adoption of technology tools and platforms that enhance delivery efficiency, reporting transparency, and client experience
  • Drive revenue growth across the portfolio while collaborating with finance and delivery leaders to improve margins, optimize pricing, and support disciplined management of SG&A

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

  • Minimum of 15+ years of professional experience in account management, client success, or workforce solutions, including demonstrated executive leadership experience
  • Proven track record of driving portfolio growth within existing accounts — including geographic expansion and multi-solution upsell with measurable business outcomes
  • Demonstrated success cultivating and sustaining executive and C-suite client relationships with a consistent track record of retention and long-term partnership
  • Experience architecting and presenting complex workforce solutions to senior client stakeholders, including the ability to translate operational data into compelling client narratives
  • Strong understanding of workforce solutions across staffing, RPO, MSP, direct sourcing, and related service categories; ability to position integrated solutions that address client strategic imperatives
  • P&L accountability experience with a solid grasp of financial drivers, growth levers, and profitability management in a services business
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of account managers or segment leaders, including those operating remotely or across multiple geographies
  • Executive presence and polished communication skills — written, verbal, and in formal presentation settings with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data sets into strategic insights and executive-ready recommendations
  • Demonstrated experience managing executive-level escalations with professionalism, urgency, and resolution focus
  • Results-driven and deadline-oriented with a continuous improvement and change management orientation

 

Location: Remote; with regular on-site engagement with clients and internal teams

Travel: 25–40%, or as needed to support client relationships and portfolio growth objectives

 

Base pay range for this position is $198,750 – $265,000 per year.  Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
