Reporting to the Sr. Director, Domestic Income Tax, this key position serves as a technical resource to the tax team. In this high-impact role you will provide review of income tax compliance and provisions, deliver analytical support for strategic tax planning, and manage tax projects (e.g., research, audits, and process improvements).

Our Tax Manager is accountable for:

Tax Compliance Review and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure quality of federal and state income tax returns prepared by external service providers, including book/tax adjustments, credits, international deliverables (e.g., Forms 5471), elections, state apportionment, nexus analysis, etc.
  • Review indirect tax returns prepared by external service providers (e.g., sales/use, gross receipts, property tax) to validate completeness and accuracy
  • Support OECD Pillar II and public country-by-country reporting
     
     

• Tax Provision Technical Review & Support

  • Review global quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations including deferred tax expense, rate reconciliation and footnote disclosures
  • Analyze realizability of deferred tax assets, valuation allowance and uncertain tax positions
  • Partner with accounting to prepare tax-related disclosures for SEC reporting (10-K/10-Q)
  • Coordinate with external auditors to respond to information requests and technical questions


 • Tax Planning and Strategic Support

  • Research and analyze tax matters and provide tax advice to the business, including planning initiatives, legislative changes, regulatory guidance, etc.
  • Support M&A tax diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition compliance including purchase price allocation and deferred tax analysis
  • Perform scenario modeling and prepare presentations for tax team and other stakeholders
  • Manage audits and notices, defend Kelly’s tax positions, and correspond with tax authorities


 • Process Management

  • Manage tax compliance calendar and workflow coordination with internal team and external service providers
  • Identify and lead process improvement, automation, and efficiency initiatives in compliance and provision workflows
  • Support tax technology projects including system implementations and AI tool integration (Workday and tax software platforms)

Essential Skills, Knowledge, & Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA and/or Masters in Tax highly preferred

Experience

  • 7-10 years progressive corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry
  • Expertise in U.S. federal and state income tax compliance, and familiarity with international income tax compliance (e.g., Form 5471, foreign tax credits)
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and financial statement disclosures
  • Exposure to indirect tax matters (sales/use, gross receipts, property tax) preferred
  • Experience in an outsourced or co-sourced compliance model a plus
  • Collaborative leadership with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization and with external service providers.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking to develop and implement long-term tax strategies.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills to address complex tax issues and mitigate risks.
  • Adaptability to stay updated with changing tax laws and regulations and apply them effectively.


 Technical Skills

  • Microsoft 365 proficiency, including Excel (complex formulas, macros, financial modeling, and data visualization) and PowerPoint
  • Experience with corporate tax software (e.g.,Corptax, OneSource)
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems for financial data extraction and analysis
  • Proficiency in tax research tools (e.g., Bloomberg Tax)
  • Familiarity with data analytics and utilization of AI in tax
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills

 

Base pay range for this position is $120,075 - $160,000 per year.  Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
