We are seeking an entry level In-House Counsel to join our corporate legal department. This role will provide a broad range of legal support to internal business partners, with primary responsibility across commercial transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, employment law matters, and claims and litigation management. The ideal candidate is a versatile generalist who can move fluidly between strategic advisory work and hands-on execution, translate complex legal issues into clear business guidance, and manage risk while enabling the company to move quickly.

 

Our Corporate Counsel is accountable for: 

 

Commercial & Contracts

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including vendor/supplier agreements, customer contracts, NDAs, licensing agreements, SaaS/technology agreements, and strategic partnership agreements
  • Advise business teams on contract risk, deal structure, and negotiation strategy
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and standard terms to streamline the contracting process
  • Support procurement, sales, and other business units on day-to-day commercial legal questions

 

Employment Law

  • Provide guidance to HR and business leaders on employment matters, including hiring, terminations, leaves of absence, workplace investigations, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Review and update employment-related policies, handbooks, and agreements (offer letters, severance agreements, restrictive covenants)
  • Partner with HR to manage employee relations issues and minimize legal exposure
  • Monitor changes in employment law and advise on necessary policy or practice updates
  • Advise HR and hiring managers on immigration considerations during recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Ensure compliance with I-9 employment verification requirements, E-Verify obligations, and public access file maintenance for LCAs
  • Partner with global mobility teams (if applicable) on cross-border transfers and international assignment matters

Claims & Litigation Management

  • Assist in managing the company's litigation docket, including oversight of outside counsel, budgets, and case strategy
  • Handle pre-litigation claims, disputes, and demand letters, working to resolve matters efficiently where possible
  • Coordinate with business units to gather facts, manage document preservation/legal holds, and support discovery
  • Assess litigation risk and provide practical recommendations to minimize exposure
  • Support insurance claims and coverage analysis as needed

General

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across departments, translating legal risk into actionable business guidance
  • Identify legal and regulatory risks proactively and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Assist with special projects and other legal matters as assigned by the Deputy General Counsel

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experiences:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; active and in good standing with a state bar required
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on legal experience in either a law firm or in house legal department. 
  • General experience in transactions, commercial and/or employment law preferred
  • Proficient in legal research, risk analysis, and advising on regulatory updates, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management strategies
  • Exceptional ability to work with external counsel, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders, demonstrating clear communication and practical problem-solving in fast-paced environments

 

Base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $123,000.  Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
