Our Senior Project Manager will lead the day-to-day execution of large-scale enterprise transformation activities across multiple workstreams, maintaining alignment on deliverables, milestones, timelines, and priorities. The role, supporting a Fortune 50 energy client, will coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, facilitate governance and decision-making, and drive effective communication to ensure cohesive progress and successful delivery.
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, and changes – providing clear status reporting and leadership visibility, and supporting cutover, stabilization, and operational readiness activities. This role will play a key part in ensuring projects remain on track and transition successfully into steady-state operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining the detailed project plan, defining deliverables, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria across all workstreams
- Coordinating cross-functional activities, driving alignment among key stakeholders and ensuring cohesive progress
- Facilitating governance routines including project meetings, steering committee updates, and decision-alignment sessions with the Program Lead
- Managing meeting logistics: scheduling, agenda preparation, note capture, and action-item tracking
- Proactively identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies; establishing mitigation plans, driving timely resolution, and escalating concerns when necessary
- Delivering structured, consistent status reporting — dashboards, milestone tracking, risk logs, and leadership summaries for program governance
- Managing all project documentation: charters, RAID logs, decision logs, change control records, and rolling 7/14/21/30-day lookahead agendas
- Supporting cutover, hypercare, and stabilization planning, coordinating readiness activities and ensuring a smooth transition into steady-state operations
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experiences:
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, preferably within large-scale transformation or enterprise technology programs
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex project plans with multiple interdependent workstreams
- Experience facilitating governance routines, steering committees, and executive-level reporting
- Strong track record of proactive risk and issue management with structured mitigation approaches
- Advanced proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or Jira
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies
- Clear, concise communicator who can tailor messaging for operational teams and senior leadership alike
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Collaborative working style with the ability to drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
- Proactive problem-solver who anticipates issues and acts before they escalate
Preferred: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification. Experience supporting ERP, VMS, or workforce management system implementations. Prior experience in managed service provider (MSP) or contingent workforce programs.
Location: Virtual, with preference in Houston
Travel: Required, to client location and as business requires
Base pay range for this position is $120,075-$160,100. Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
