Job Description:

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build, Lead and manage a diverse team of technical experts, including scientists, engineers, and researchers, to achieve the organization's R&D objectives.
  • Set the strategic direction for the Bengaluru Global Competence Center, aligning R&D efforts with the global T&I goals as well as company goals and market demands.
  • Drive technological innovation and advancements in material science to improve product performance, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Establish strong relationships with external partners in India, including universities, research institutions, and industry experts, to stay at the forefront of material science and plastics molding technologies.
  • Drive a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team, fostering an environment that encourages experimentation and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Setup and Managing Product design, Lab Facilities, Simulation, and test Equipment/Machineries 
  • Oversee and lead the set-up of the planned India center focused on Finance and IT roles. Support the team in identifying and selecting talent from the market.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, preparing regular reports and presenting findings to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, and implement necessary controls and risk mitigation measures.

 

Job Requirements:

Work experience: Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in leading R&D or technology-focused teams, preferably in the medical device industry, plastics molding industry or related sectors.

 

Expertise (e.g., professional, technical):  

  • This position requires exceptional technical expertise in material science, plastics molding technologies, simulation, product design & development, as well as strategic leadership abilities.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering innovative solutions and driving technology advancements in material science and plastics molding technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the Healthcare and Consumer/Industrial sectors, and the ability to identify market needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a highly skilled technical team.
  • Solid business acumen and strategic thinking ability, with a focus on delivering results and driving continuous improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest trends, developments, and best practices in material science and plastics molding technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in strategic business consulting or Marketing is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a shared services center or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of shared services operations, including finance, IT, and Procurement.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, streamline operations, and deliver results.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Can do attitude and high level of energy.
