Primary Job Function: The primary reason the position exists.

Assume responsibility for data management and integrity, financial reporting and financial controls associated with the unemployment and workers compensation claim functions as well as reporting and data analytics to support the corporate safety function. Serve our internal and external customers and ensure consistent quality of controls. Manage the Origami risk management information system.

Financial management and analytics supporting the unemployment function. Forecast total unemployment expenditures as well as tax rates per state for each corporate entity. Analyze the financial consequences of potential tax planning strategies and present analyses and recommendations to senior management. Apply a strong understanding of applicable state laws, and maintain relationships with state and federal agencies as necessary to support these functions. Apply such knowledge to specific customer situations as appropriate.

Manage the domain of financial reporting, financial controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for the Unemployment (UC) and Workers Compensation (WC) functions. Coordinate quarterly workers compensation actuarial analyses with the external actuary. Manage all claim data rendering associated with workers compensation actuarial activity, including coordination with Finance and internal and external auditors. Control the financial integrity of these processes including formal financial controls, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and attestation, and management of SSAE 16 reports.

Manage and maintain the Origami risk management information system. Become the technical subject matter expert on the use and control of Origami. Support internal users as necessary. Manage the Origami vendor relationship.

Maintain and enhance the internal reporting frameworks and data analytics capabilities for the unemployment and workers compensation functions. Manage the respective chargeback programs for WC and UC, including evaluation of performance and potential modifications. Project SUTA and FUTA taxes and their translation to customer pricing decisions. Participate in leadership discussions and customer-specific analyses.

Expand, standardize and control Kelly's reporting and analytical capabilities regarding data analysis in support of the corporate safety function and WC experience for key customers. Propose, design and manage reports that are responsive to the needs of such groups.

Qualifications: List the minimum required education, experience, and skills needed to perform the job (not incumbent specific).

Minimum education required: Undergraduate degree In what field of study: Finance, business or other appropriate field

Minimum years experience required: 8, with 2 of those years in Management.

In what capacity: Financial management, forecasting, financial controls, accounting, information systems, budgeting or related disciplines

Skills required: Leadership, customer service, very strong data analysis skills, competence in Excel and other software, competence in financial controls and reporting, strong communication skills, ability to collaborate with other business unit leaders; ability to solve problems creatively; superior organizational skills. Experience in unemployment or workers compensation a strong plus.
